beautiful animation

+ the animation was very nice, very smooth. top notch.

+ i loved the silhouetted army. nice touch.

* great ending with the llama. left me wanting more.

* i liked the text additions during the movie. spunked up the movie's personality.

- the goat run cycle felt a lil bit over used. it would've been cool if he did something else when he got hit with the objects other than just being mr. steel and taking 'em like they're nothing.

- i'm not sure if the intro text is really necessary. it's funny but kinda slows down the pace of the movie.

overall: i was impressed with the animation. you also brought a good, funny twist to the usual good vs evil battle; a goat and llamas. who can hate a fight between a goat and llamas??

ungr8fulgoobah responds:

i was actually contemplating whether or not he should do all this dodging action to avoid the attacks... but he's supposed to be immortal/invulnerable so I thought to myself "hmmm well what would I do if i were invincible like that"... and yea. but thanks for the tip

sweet

* cute flash movie
* nice face drawings
* this really isn't a big issue and it's just me being picky, but once they fade to turquoise, there's a 1/2 a second when they're alpha'ed and the parts of their faces that are overlapping show a bit of a darker color than the rest of their faces. i don't know if you meant to do that, maybe to show that they're ghosts now and it's their souls or something, but it just looked weird. it's not that big of a problem, but just something that caught my eye.
* otherwise, sweet story.

SketchMichaels responds:

Yeah, I just noticed that, too... I think it's cause they're overlapped. I can't really do much about it, cause their faces make a 'heart' shape, and I want to keep that effect.

Thanks for the great review :)

really nice work

i haven't seen your other two movies, but this movie was just absolutely enjoyable and hilarious. the cashier segment was killing me. i love your clever use of subtle humor/detail. stepping aside from the humor, the graphics/animation were awesome, especially on the characters.

if i HAD to give any sort of criticism for this movie, it would be your excessive use of outlines. i think the characters and environment would look a lot better if you got rid of some of those outlines, or maybe even just thinning them down. but, other than that, this movie is near flawless. give yourself a pat on the back.

Bleeg responds:

Thanks! I'll take a look at playing with the outlines.

love your style

great piece.

it can be interpreted in many ways but my own personal interpretation was that the creator was the government/laws/rules and the creature was society. if we, the society, do nothing, we can't survive. so we go ahead and get jobs and make money. most of the money we make goes to the government/taxes (the creator). and if we're abiding by the laws/rules and making money, we're happy and the creator's happy. and, at the end, i interpreted the creature as an individual in society, where if one is failing, the gov't doesn't care and merely looks on forward to others in society.

i dunno, that's my take on it lol. great job. great graphics too.

Virgilcomic responds:

Thanks. Interesting interpretation.

sweet ass animation

excellent job on the animation, absolutely love the soundtrack to this flash movie also.

natch responds:

Hahaha, thanks, I tried to vary the music selection once again. I knew that was a big selling point in ep 1. Thanks for noticing!

really good for your first

i remember my first. and this was 5 times better than mine. and this is actually better than people's 2nd and 3rd flash movies at newgrounds. you had some cool sound effects in the movie, but i think it would've pumped it up more if you had a nice background song. but, all in all, nice!

flapjackdaddy responds:

I was going to add music but it made the file size too big. Well i know theres a way to lower the size, maybe next time. Thanks

the title of the flash movie doesn't lie =)

it was crazy, in a good sense.

i've always wondered about this question but never asked anyone. so, i guess now's a better time than any. for this specific flash movie alone, did you draw each frame on the computer or did you animate on paper, scan it, and then put it into flash? and if you did draw on computer, did you use a tablet?

TomokoSasaki responds:

It was all done frame by frame, using a tablet (wacom graphire 2). it would be so tiresome to draw on paper, then scan!

wow

unique, unique, unique... original... and i LOVE it. i love your style. those backgrounds turned out great. you've brought back my desire to get a tablet. life would be a lot easier with one of those tablets. tight preloader too. one of these nights, when i'm bored, i'll go back to your movie and try to get all the eggs, hehe. great job. time well spent to make this work of art.

McRhyme responds:

Thank you very much! I was in LA last, last summer - Just thought I'd let you know. HAHA! We have so much in common!

hahahhahahahaha

really nice man, really nice

FireHound responds:

thanx!

its cool

cool "loading" clip, cool design

sorry, but i got fed up with the extremely long pauses in the dialogue and i closed it before it ended. that's my one big criticism about this movie, but besides that, nice sound...

TLF responds:

Yep, still working on the sound issue.
